WUT Jubilee

The 100th Anniversary of the Revival of the Warsaw University of Technology 

History of the Warsaw University of Technology, the biggest and the oldest technical University in Poland, dates back to the early XIXth century.  Year 1826, with the opening of the Preparatory School for the Polytechnic Institute – the first technical school in Warsaw marked the beginning of technical education in Warsaw. The school provided education in technical and business fields.

On November 15, 1915 the Warsaw University of Technology - the first Polish technical university was established. Studies were conducted in Polish at the faculties of: Architecture, Machine Design and Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and Civil and Agricultural Engineering.

Today, Our University provides the highest level of education in 32 fields of study, including English as the language of instruction, to over 34 thousand students.

Year 2015 will be the time of celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Revival of WUT. Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Professor Wiesław Wieczorek is the head of the Jubilee Committee. The celebrations will begin with a Charity Ball. The funds will be spent on scholarships for Polish students living in the East of Poland who’d like to study at WUT.

Year 2015 will be packed full of wide-ranging, exciting events to which we are all looking forward to!
